About CAIS

CAIS is the main voluntary sector provider of drug and alcohol services in Wales. CAIS was established in 1976 as the Clwyd and Gwynedd Council on Alcoholism and its main aim is to provide a range of services for people who misuse drugs or alcohol, and to work with communities and other agencies to prevent alcohol and drug related harm.

CAIS is a registered charity (No. 1039386) and became a company limited by guarantee in September 1992 (No. 2751104).

Over the past 25 years CAIS has developed a comprehensive range of client focussed Services in various locations across the region, and in all its activity CAIS is committed to working in partnership with others in keeping with the All Wales Strategy - Tackling Substance Misuse in Wales - A Partnership Approach.
