Supporting People

Overview of the service

Supporting People is a framework for delivering housing-related support to people who live in their own homes and who have substance misuse issues. The aim of the service is support vulnerable people who have put their tenancies at risk to move towards independent living. The delivery of the service is maintained by working in partnership with local authority housing departments and housing associations, CDAS teams, and many other services/agencies.

This year was a watershed in terms of service development and Supporting People in that CAIS became a fully accredited support provider (ASP) compliant with Welsh Assembly Government stipulations. This means that CAIS has a full range of appropriate Policies and Quality Assurance Systems in place, and as such is entitled to receive funding directly from the Welsh Assembly Government for certain projects.
