In collaboration with The School of Lifelong Learning, University of Wales (Bangor) CAIS is able to offer the following accredited Modules:

Introduction to Drug & Alcohol Counselling Skills – 30 Credits

Introduction to Groupwork – 30 Credits

Motivational Interviewing - 10 Credits

Tailor-Made Training

CAIS can tailor-make a training package to suit your specific needs. This training can be delivered at a venue of your choice at a time that suits you.

CAIS has the experience and expertise to design the training package specifically for your staff, and are able to offer training designed specifically to meet the needs of your organisation.

CAIS also offers a range of Workshops on ‘Drug & Alcohol Awareness’ that can be tailored to your requirements. These can range from one hour, half day to full day sessions.

Training Topics Include:

* Alcohol Awareness and Older People
* Substance Misuse and Young People

Internal Training

Our internal training programme is linked to Induction, Appraisal and Supervision systems to ensure that all staff receive the core training necessary for them to carry out their job, and that a range of training is available to enhance their practice.

A programme of one and two day workshops to be held at the Data Centre include the following:

Suicide and Self Harm

Relapse Prevention

Bereavement Counselling for Addictions

De-escalation

Dual Diagnosis (Mental Health)

Child Protection

Alongside this, one afternoon a month is given over to TOPIC CONSULTANCY.

This group is for therapeutic workers within CAIS and will provide a training input on topics to be chosen by the workers which will then be linked to their case work practice. These groups will be facilitated by a CAIS employee, with other professionals invited in according to the topic.
