Crew-it is a 16-week programme which provides training, qualifications and work experience within the catering and hospitality sector. Participants will receive advice and support from the Crew-it team to develop their employability skills.

Crew-it is for you if:

  • You live in Conwy
  • You’re not in employment or education
  • You have been affected by substance misuse, mental health issues and/or offending

Case study: skills, confidence and qualifications

Sarah knows the skills, confidence and qualifications she picked up during her 16-week Crew-it course at Porter's Coffee Shop & Bistro in Colwyn Bay were vital in helping her back into the workplace after several years.

“It was great to get the qualifications Crew-it offered, and it's those which have really helped me to get a job," she said.

Volunteering opportunities

Based in one of CAIS’ Social Enterprises you will develop skills in a variety of roles that may include:

  • Customer service roles
  • Catering and food preparation
  • Barista and bistro services



Working as a valued member of a small but dedicated team, you will have access to training and qualifications in the following areas:

  • Level 2 Food Safety in Catering
  • Level 2 Health & Safety at Work
  • Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Employability skills
  • Support in searching for work
  • CV writing and interview skills

Participants will be provided with at least 2 days per week work experience / training.
