Gwynedd Young Persons Service

The Young Persons' Substance Misuse Service (YPSMS) is available to young people, typically under 22 years old, who are experiencing problems with substance misuse. The service is intended to provide specialist assessment, treatment, and support to young people with complex needs in conjunction with other services (e.g. Youth Justice Service, Social Services, etc).

The YPSMS provides a variety of services including Education, Information, Advice, Support and Structured Treatment. The YPSMS aims to help young people to overcome their drug/alcohol misuse problems so that they can sustain a stable and healthier lifestyle and achieve their full potential in society.

The YPSMS Worker may work directly with the young person as a key worker, with a range of other workers as a Care Manager, or advise other workers in a consultancy role on how best to work with the young person with regard to their substance misuse.

Eligibility Criteria:

Young people, up to 22 years of age, who live in Gwynedd and who have substance misuse issues.
