Former service user, Chris Davies, will be taking to the skies this summer in an effort to raise vital funds for CAIS. Chris is aiming to raise £1000 by taking part in a skydive on the 20th of June.
Chris sought support from CAIS after attempting to take his own life as a result of his alcohol and cocaine addiction. During the COVID-19 pandemic he was supported by our Drug and Alcohol Counselling service which provided him with 1 to 1 support for his addiction over the phone.
Chris said, “They provided me with the techniques I need to manage cravings and taught me to focus on the positives of giving up drugs and alcohol. I am just really thankful that they have provided me with all the tools I need to help me combat my addiction; I can now live a happy healthy lifestyle.
"Fundraising for CAIS is my way of saying thank you. I have gotten over my addiction but there are a lot more people out there who are still struggling, and so I want to raise some money to help those people. This is a cause close to my heart and I will forever be grateful to CAIS."

In 2021, CAIS Drug and Alcohol Counselling and Therapeutic Interventions Service merged to become CAMFA; a new service which provides therapies to those requiring specialist substance misuse psychological interventions. To learn more about CAMFA and how it can help you, see here.
